  • Stellar Blade 2 Announced

A sequel confirmed ahead of the game's PC release.
A woman in a green and white skin suit is staring at a man in a black coat with yellow lights. Behind them is some sort of a sphere device connected with a bunch of large wires.

The action-RPG Stellar Blade is confirmed to have a sequel coming. Developer Shift Up shared the confirmation by way of a chart in their latest financial report that showed future plans for the studio.

Obviously, very little information is know about the sequel. However, the chart in their presentation seems to suggest that they would like to get a sequel to Stellar Blade out before 2027 and before another project that the team has codenamed Project Witches. Project Witches is apparently a new multiplatform action-RPG that has yet to be fully revealed.

A chart showing some of the upcoming projects for developer Shift Up, including a sequel to Stellar Blade.

In the shorter term, Stellar Blade will be out on Steam on June 11th. The Steam release recently hit the news spotlight when Sony began to region lock the game where PlayStation Network is not officially available. Shift Up flat out stated that connecting to PSN for the PC release of Stellar Blade is "entirely optional and NEVER required."

As of May 19th, Shift Up has been "closely discussing" the issue with the PC region locking with Sony. No further details on this matter have been shared yet by either Sony or Shift Up.

On a weird thought, I wonder how excited NVidia's Jensen gets about GPU jiggle physics.

      Two thoughts on that:
      1. Jiggle physics aren't intensive enough to require people to buy new cards...
      But
      2. They are more noticeable than ray tracing.

      True, that.
