If you thought Obsidian's latest fantasy RPG was a done deal, think again. Alongside the release of today's 1.4 update, Obsidian shared a look at the roadmap they have planned for both summer and fall of 2025.
Included in the roadmap are new features various improvements, plus a variety of new gameplay additions. Some examples of the planned content include new abilities for NCPs, new player abilities, new weapons, new armor, an entirely new weapon type, New Game+, and a photo mode.
In reality, their roadmap plans kicked off today with the 1.4 update. Obsidian classifies today's update as the spring 2025 update, which you can see the highlights for in the roadmap image.
The full changelog is available on the official Obsidian forums. It's not exactly easy to paste it below as is because there are several spoiler tagged quest changes included, and honestly I just CBA to go through and manually convert every single one of them here. The highlights for the update are included below though.
Arachnophobia Mode Now Available!
The community has spoken—and we listened! Our new Arachnophobia Mode is now live in Avowed. This optional feature replaces spider enemies with round, floating orbs that still pack a punch… but might be a bit less creepy. You can toggle this setting in the Accessibility menu. Just remember: friendlier looks, same deadly bite.
Community Highlights – Update 1.4
This update brings a host of quality-of-life improvements, many of them inspired directly by your feedback:
