DOOM: The Dark Ages is now officially available worldwide for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net, and Game Pass. This is unlike earlier this week when DOOM: The Dark Ages was released to those that bought the more expensive version of the game. Today, it's available to everyone regardless of edition purchased.
Average review score for DOOM: The Dark Ages are holding steady at 86%. While I don't have my own review for the game anywhere, I can briefly state that I am enjoying the hell out of it (no pun intended). I vastly prefer this one over DOOM Eternal for a myriad of reasons (level design, combat encounters, visuals, etc.).
This is the prequel to 2016's DOOM and sort of a sequel to DOOM 64.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is a single-player prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. Players will experience a new, yet familiar grounded combat loop that challenges them to master new abilities and weapons. Explore never-before-seen worlds, take flight atop the fierce Mecha Dragon, pulverize Titans in a massive Atlan mech, and beat demons to a pulp in this cinematic action story worthy of the Slayer's legend.
