Neil Druckmann Says Not to Expect The Last of Us Part 3

In an interview with Variety, The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann said that fans should probably stop expecting a Part 3 of the game series from Naughty Dog.

The Naughty Dog veteran mostly talked about The Last of Us TV series, which will soon kick off its second season. Eventually, the discussion switched over to talking about the potential for Naughty Dog to develop The Last of Us Part 3. Druckmann made it pretty clear that they aren't working on a Part 3 and may never work on a Part 3.

I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.

Right now, Naughty Dog seems focused on developing their new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. That title was announced at The Game Awards in December 2024.

If there is more of The Last of Us coming, it either won't be for an extremely long time or it's not coming from Naughty Dog.

  I'd prefer another Uncharted but not going to expect any. Actually, watching that Uncharted fan short with Nathan Fillion, I don't think anything could live up to him as Drake.

Druckmann's full response to the question posed by the interviewer was much longer and contains quite a bit more context than simply "it could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming."
