  • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Announced, Releases July 11th

Oh yeah, that's the nostalgia hit. Right there.
Title: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. The image shows professional skateboarder Tony Hawk pulling off a trick while behind him are different locations from different water slides and water park attractions from a gameplay map.

The countdown on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater website came to an end and when it did, the official announcement for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 was made! Unlike what some fans were expecting, there was no shadow drop for the game today. Instead, you will have to wait until July 11th to start playing these graphically updated blasts from the past.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is coming for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Battle.net, and Steam. It will also be a day one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

This release is a "faithfully remade" bundle of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. It's built from the ground up and adds in new skaters, new parks, returning favorite maps, new music, and more. There are also some pre-order and Digital Deluxe Edition purchase incentives.

Pre-orders will get access to the Foundry Demo to be released in June. Those that pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition will get three days of advanced access on the release of the full game. This edition also comes with the Doom Slayer and Revenant playable skaters.

The Career Mode includes the original tours from both original titles. There will also be cross-platform multiplayer that supports up to eight skaters playing at once.

Speaking of skaters, there are new skaters joining the original line-up. You'll also be able to create your own skater, which includes customizing their appearance, hometown, skating style, and more.

One of the new maps added is called Waterpark. It's being added "as part of the revamped THPS 4 Tour." This map is a "broken-down, dried-out park in the heart of the Mojave desert."

The rides might not be functional any more, but they’re more than open for finding lines and trick opportunities. Six rides are open for you to try and trick off of – Down the Drain, Peak Cyclone, Twisted Vipers and more offer challenging trips down to ground level. Just skate to the entrance of each one, and you’ll be transported to the top to try your luck.

If you’re looking for something a little more chill, take a trip down the Lazy River, which snakes around the entire map, head to the Marquee for a ramp-filled area perfect for combos, or find a way to open up the Castle Slide for even more opportunities to earn points.
There promises to be more details on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 in the weeks ahead.

Hmm... Can I trust Iron Galaxy?

I think Iron Galaxy has a mostly solid track record. They did the Steam version of THPS 1 + 2. Then again they also helped bring over TLOU Part 1 to PC which was a big mess for a while at release on PC.

But given that this is a full on remake and not just a port job, I have higher hopes. They did pretty damn good with the Killer Instinct content some years back, and Rumbleverse seemed well received though it failed to gather an audience.

That's good to know. Here's hoping Iron Galaxy's remake is as high quality as Blizzard Albany's previous offering. Thanks for clarifying!
