  • Mai from Fatal Fury Added to Street Fighter 6 Roster Today

Mai is the second-ever guest character in the history of Street Fighter.
A female warrior with long brown hair tied in a high ponytail, wearing a red and white revealing outfit. She is in an action pose, wielding a folding fan in one hand. The background features abstract red brushstrokes and floral elements on a soft pink canvas. The word 'Mai' is written in stylized script in the bottom right corner.

Fatal Fury fans and Street Fighter fans can come together today to celebrate the release of the second ever guest character in the history of the Street Fighter franchise. Why would Fatal Fury fans care about this? Because the special guest character is none other than Mai from SNK's Fatal Fury franchise.

According to Capcom's own press release, "players can bounce into battle with the iconic Mai right now across Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub." Ohhh, "bounce into battle." I get it. I see what you did there, Capcom.

Mai is available to players that own the Year 2 Character Pass or Ultimate pass. She can also be purchased separately with Fighter Coins. Mai comes with two outfits. The first outfit is "reminiscent of her classic style across the Fatal Fury series." Outfit 2 is based on her look from the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Additional updates coming alongside the Mai update include:
    • Professor Woshige V-Rival: The famous FGC competitor (“Woshige noooo!! What are you standing up for?!”) and now Street Fighter 6 Battle Director Woshige has arrived as a special guest V-Rival in the Battle Hub! Challenge the legendary Woshige himself with Luke, Cammy, and Akuma to receive a special emote and challenger screen illustration!
    • New Master League Ranks & Rewards: Master League, where the best of the best fight it out, is getting a trio of changes, including:
      • New ranks of High Master, Grand Master, and Ultimate Master
      • Master Phase Rewards where players can earn rewards by playing Ranked Matches with characters they’ve achieved Master rank with.
      • Master Rate at the beginning of each new Phase will now be determined per player based on the previous Phase’s Master Rate, meaning matchmaking with opponents of similar strength will be easier right from the start of the Phase.
    • Quality-of-Life Updates: Multiple quality-of-life updates will be introduced, including:
      • New replay features like the ability to watch replays from the most recent Match Result screen in Ranked or Casual matches, ability to pause and use the menu even during round calls or after a KO, and more.
      • New World Tour updates like checking all Masters’ information right away in the Master Section of the Status menu, plus hints for “when/where to find” and “how to enroll” with Masters regardless of if you have met them.
      • New Local Tournament Mode Settings like the ability to set the intro/outro screen to not be skippable, Automatic Random Stages, Pause Menu on Long Hold and more!
      • Match Restore added to Custom Rooms so that when a fight is interrupted mid-match, players can resume the fight by restarting at the start of the round when the disconnection occurred.
    • Mai Fighting Pass: Sting like a bee with the Say Hello to Mai! Fighting Pass in February! Get avatar gear inspired by Mai's outfit and roam World Tour and Battle Hub looking for your next obsession. There's also a snazzy Challenger Screen effect and the Flame Dragon God (Nippon Stage II) music to celebrate Mai's arrival!
