Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed that the Nintendo Switch successor, be it the Switch 2 or otherwise, will be backwards-compatible with original Switch games. The new console will also support Nintendo Switch Online, which probably doesn't come as much of a surprise.
The news was shared as part of Nintendo's "Corporate Management Policy Briefing." The specific statement was also shared publicly.
