A new Destiny game was announced today but it wasn't Destiny 3. It is instead a mobile spin-off title that seems to be something of an alternate history prequel to the Destiny franchise. It's called Destiny: Rising. It's a mobile game, and it's primarily being developed by NetEase with minimal support from Destiny creator Bungie.
Destiny: Rising will be a free-to-play mobile shooter that includes single player content, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes. Players can choose to play in either first-person view or a third-person action view. Like most mobile releases, you can either use touchscreen controls or you can connect a compatible controller to play.
The first closed alpha test is expected to begin in November. Those interested in this spin-off can pre-register ahead of time by checking out the official website.
