The PlayStation VR2 PC Adaptor is still on track to be released on August 7, 2024. This $60 adapter seems to be just one of the two requirements you need in order to get your PlayStation VR2 hardware up and running on your computer.
In addition to the adaptor, you will need to run the PlayStation VR2 App. The app, which can be found via Steam, will be required for the initial setup to play Steam VR games on PlayStation VR2. The app will also be used to update the firmware for the PlayStation VR2 should Sony release any updates. The app will also allow for users to adjust a few settings such as screen brightness and will be used to setup a play area that SteamVR can utilize.
The system requirements for the PlayStation VR2 App seem to align with what Sony previously recommended for using the headset on PC.
