Plus a recap of what happened in Act 1.

July 16th will be the date that the second act of Destiny 2's Episode Echoes will be released by Bungie. This will continue the story that kicked off on June 11 when players began investigating some mysterious events taking place on Nessus.

During a livestream today, Bungie shared a decently sized recap of the events that transpired in Act 1. Obviously, if you haven't yet finished Act 1 you should avoid this recap until you're ready for it. Today's stream also went over how the next Episode, Revenant, will change things up a bit when it launches this October. Bungie also shared a little gameplay and some new details on the new Echoes Battlegrounds that will launch in Act 2 of Echoes.

Also shared today by the team was the first look at the new Artifact mods and Seasonal weapons coming. We also got a look at a preview of the new Solstice armor ornaments.

For those a little confused about things, I'll break it down for you:

• Destiny 2's latest expansion is The Final Shape
• The Final Shape released on June 4, 2024
• During the year of The Final Shape, Bungie is releasing three Episodes
• The story within these Episodes is mostly separate from the overall story in The Final Shape
• Episodes are replacing the four seasons that they used to release during each expansion year
• Each Episode is broken up into three Acts
• The first Episode for the year of The Final Shape is called Echoes
• The first Act for the Echoes Episode went live one week after the launch of The Final Shape, on June 11th
• The second Act for the Echoes Episode begins on July 16th
• The third Act for the Echoes Episode begins on August 27th
• The entire Echoes Episode ends on October 8, 2024
• The next Episode, Revenant, will then launch in October beginning again with its first of three Acts

It's a little confusing, even for Destiny veterans. I can only imagine how confusing the game must be for new players these days.
