Last week's release of Ghost of Tsushima on PC is a massive hit for PlayStation. According to SteamDB, Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut is now PlayStation's biggest single-player game launch on Steam.

Ghost of Tsushima saw a concurrent player peak of 77,154. This peak happened on May 19, 2024. This peak is also roughly 600 more than the previous top PlayStation title, God of War. God of War saw an all-time peak of 73,529 concurrent players and was released on PC two years back.

While these Ghost of Tsushima numbers are impressive for a single-player title, they still pale in comparison to Helldivers 2. Helldivers 2 still sits at an all-time peak concurrent player count of 458,709. While that number has dropped significantly over the past several months, the game still manages to pull in roughly 85,000 to 98,000 peak concurrent players each day.

We don't know just yet how many copies of Ghost of Tsushima were sold on PC, only the concurrent player peak. Sony, at least Sucker Punch Productions, seem to be pleased with the PC release of Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch offered a huge thanks to the team at Nixxes that did a lot of the heavy lifting on the PC port of the game.

These high concurrent player numbers come despite the game not releasing in 180 countries and regions around the world. These are the 180 countries and regions that cannot legitimately access PlayStation Network, a requirement for Ghost of Tsushima only if you play the game's Legends mode online with others.

The next PC release of a PlayStation title is rumored to be God of War: Ragnarok. Sony has yet to confirm this nor have they announced Ragnarok for PC yet.
