Will be enhanced for modern platforms.
During last night's State of Play event, a PlayStation 5 version of Until Dawn was announced. This release is expected to come out at some point in 2024 along with a PC release of the game. This is very much in the "remaster" category of games here as it will feature graphical touchups and performance improvements from Ballistic Moon.
Until Dawn first released on the PlayStation 4 in 2015. It's a horror/thriller where your choices decide the fates of the entire cast of characters. The original was created by Supermassive Games, who used their success from Until Dawn to develop more "choose your own adventure" style horror games, notably the titles within The Dark Pictures Anthology.
This enhanced version of Until Dawn is built using Unreal Engine 5. Ballistic Moon says that "characters, environments, and VFX have been upgraded", but avoided specifics. They do note that they are using "a broader cinematic tonal colour palette and new perspectives to make the story more nuanced and emotional". Some areas of the environment have been expanded with new interactions and collectables. There is now also a third-person camera.
The audio is also getting enhanced as well. It now features "a new score from legendary horror composer Mark Korven".
Until Dawn is still also planned to get a film adaptation from PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems. It will be directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation), with a screenplay by Gary Dauberman (It: Chapter Two) and Blair Butler (The Invitation).

by Shawn ZipayFails to live up to others in the genre this franchise helped to create.
The Alone in the Dark reboot was just released today and it seems like the reviews have placed it firmly in the realm of being merely ok but with some serious shortcomings. This release from Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic currently sits at a 62% critical average on OpenCritic, with only 42% of reviewers recommending this new release.
Interestingly, the actual scores for this game range everywhere...-

by Shawn ZipayLayoffs confirmed by Ballistic Moon on LinkedIn.
We've seen layoffs hit studios that recently released successful games like Tango Gameworks. We've seen layoffs hit studios, like Ouka Studio, on the same day that their game was released. Now, we're at the point where mass layoffs are hitting studios before the game they've been working on is even released.
Ballistic Moon issued a statement to LinkedIn saying that they had to make "the tough decision to significantly...-
