A new PlayStation Blog update on Helldivers 2 comes out of the gate swinging. This upcoming PlayStation 5 and PC title will feature crossplay support between the two platforms. Beyond that, Sony and developer Arrowhead Game Studios talks more about the PC specific features for Hellblade 2. In addition, we are given details on the minimum, recommended, performance, and ultra requirements.
No matter what performance tier you're gunning for, you will need 100GB of free storage space for Helldivers 2. You will also need, at minimum, Windows 10 64-bit. Besides that, GPU requirements run from a GTX 1050 Ti at the lowest of ends up to the RTX 4070 Ti for 4K "Very High" settings.
Curiously, there aren't too many "PC specific" features mentioned in the blog or the features trailer (below). There is no mention about ultra widescreen support, rebinding of keys, above 60FPS options, and the typical PC features seen in many other PlayStation to PC ports. That's not to say that these features won't be in Helldivers 2, just that there was no specific mention of them. We do know that Helldivers 2 will support up to 4K resolutions.
For those that did not play the original Helldivers, this sequel is a rather major departure from the gameplay featured in the first. The original Helldivers featured an isometric view and was a co-op focused hardcore twin-stick shooter. Helldivers 2 brings that camera way down and is now a third-person shooter. Helldivers 2 will retain that "hardcore" and co-op gameplay focus that was a heavy focus of the original.
Helldivers 2 is priced starting at just $39.99 and will be out on February 8, 2024.
