Like, really early. It's still years and years away.

CD Projekt Red admits that Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a sequel and that sequel is already in very early development. This is the game that is known as Project Orion and is still several years away from being released.

During a presentation to investors on October 5, CD Projekt Red said that Project Orion was in the "conceptional design" stage of development. This comes directly from chief creative officer Adam Badowski, who continued on to say that the sequel will be designed by a team made of "veterans who were responsible for fine-tuning" the original Cyberpunk 2077 and the recently released DLC, Phantom Liberty.

Project Orion, or the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, will be developed by teams located in Vancouver, Boston, and Poland.

Cyberpunk 2077 recently had its massive 2.0 update, which overhauled nearly every core gameplay system. The expansion, Phantom Liberty, was also very recently released. Today, CD Projekt Red released the 2.01 patch that fixes a few issues that arose after the release of Phantom Liberty.
