But only for the PlayStation 5.
The remaster of Red Dead Redemption was released for PlayStation 4 back in August. While the release seemed largely fine (leagues better than the GTA Trilogy release at least), one of the biggest complaints from fans is the fact that there was no 60FPS option available anywhere.
Though technically a PlayStation 4 title, the remastered Red Dead Redemption release can be played on PlayStation 5 through backwards compatibility. Even on the mighty PS5 hardware, a 60FPS toggle was absent. This omission was made all the more odd when it has been shown that the original Red Dead Redemption looks and seems to play just fine at 60FPS when emulated.
With today's release of update 1.03, a 60FPS option has been added to the game, but there is a catch. The 60FPS option will only show up when playing Red Dead Redemption via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5.
The 1.03 update also adds in an option to enable subtitles when first booting up the game. It also includes the vague "general bug fixes and improvements."
There does not seem to be any sort of similar update for the Xbox version of Red Dead Redemption that would allow Xbox Series owners to enable 60FPS via that platform's own backwards compatibility.

A PC port of Red Dead Redemption might actually be coming soon. According to a PlayStation Store listing, Red Dead Redemption is claimed to be "now on PC."
That may be true in some other dimension, but it certainly doesn't apply to ours. The PlayStation Page was "fixed" a short while later but not before the "now on PC" part was shared far and wide across these series of tubes. The little mistake by PlayStation...-
