NetherRealm Studios says a patch is coming soon.

This past week, a bug was discovered in Mortal Kombat 1 that unintentionally gives whomever is Player 1 an unfair advantage over their competition. The issue is that Player 1 is able to pull off combos that are impossible for Player 2 to pull off. It doesn't matter which direction the player is facing, only that they be Player 1.

Obviously, this is a pretty severe issue for a fighting game that can be played competitively.

Developer NetherRealm Studios says that they will be issuing a patch for this bug. NetherRealm's Ed Boon took to Twitter to say that they have fixed this bug internally and will be issuing an update to the public "very soon." His statement comes after videos by mrAPchem showcasing the bug in question started to go viral online.

Boon's Twitter remarks were then echoed by the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account. They say that a patch is expected to be out on Friday, September 29th to address this issue. The update will also fix an issue involving kameo inputs.
