Bethesda dishes the details as release nears ever closer.

If you were curious about when exactly you will get to start playing Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios has you covered. Bethesda shared details on the global release times for Starfield along with their minimum and recommended PC specifications. This information comes mere days ahead of Starfield's early access release on Friday, September 1 for Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Starfield is a new IP from Bethesda that could, if you're so inclinded, be thought of as Fallout in space. It is the studio's first new universe in 25 years. Despite the game being super simplified as "fallout in space," don't go into this expecting to see alien apocalyptic wastelands. Players will set out on a big adventure across dozens, if not hundreds of different planets. Much like other Bethesda titles, such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, Starfield will have you engaging in conversation with countless NPCs, taking on quests big and small, and engaging in plenty of combat. Combat in Starfield does take place both on terra firma and in space by way of your extremely customizable spaceship.

Bethesda shared details on the launch times and PC specs in a new blog post that went up late last week. Those that pre-ordered or purchase the Premium Edition, or Premium Edition Upgrade, or Constellation Edition, will get to begin playing on September 1. Those that get the regular edition of the game will have to wait until September 6.

Now, thanks to how time zones work, some people will actually get to start playing as early as August 31st! Let's take a look at the global release times shared by Bethesda.


According to the image, those in the States will get to begin playing as early as the evening of August 31. You can thank time zone differences for that "early" Early Access release.

As far as the system requirements are concerned, there's nothing truly exceptional here. The minimum requirements do require an SSD with at least 125GB of free space. GPU and CPU requirements also seem quite reasonable. The only thing that isn't shared in these system requirements is what framerate and resolution the specs are targeting.
