It's the year 2022 and Killer Klowns from Outer Space is somehow making a comeback. During Opening Night Live, Good Shepherd Entertainment, MGM, and Teravision Games announced Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. This is an upcoming 3 vs 7 asymmetrical online multiplayer game that is inspired by the cult horror film from 1988.
The titular Killer Klowns descend upon the town of Crescent Cove. Those not immediately wiped out by these Klowns are banding together to fight back against the invasion.
As this is an asymmetrical multiplayer game, you will get to play as either the humans or the Klowns. There are a variety of classes with different abilities. The map (singular) is said to be "ever-changing" and "with creepy surprises waiting around every corner."
The press release flatly says that this is being developed as a live-service title. There are already multiple content updates planned for after the game's launch. Speaking of which, you can play Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game in early 2023 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
