2K announced today that PGA Tour 2K23 will be released on October 14, 2022. The game will feature the once and maybe future(?) golf legend Tiger Woods as the cover athlete. For those of you who purchase either the Deluxe Edition or the Tiger Woods Edition of the game, you will get to play three days earlier on October 11, 2022.
In addition to being on the cover of the game, Woods will be a playable pro that you can pick. Additionally, Woods served as an Executive Director on the game where he helped advise the developers. Woods is just one of the more than 14 male and female pro athletes that are available at launch. Others include Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, Brooke Henderson, and more.
There are various game modes here including Exhibition, multiplayer, Divot Derby, and also the PGA Tour MyCareer mode where you will try to climb the leaderboard and win the FedExCup. To tie the presentation together will be Rich Beem and Luke Elvy, who will add some broadcast-style presentation and commentary to the game. Henni Koyack will join Beem and Elvy.
There will be 20 licensed courses included at the game's launch. Some new additions to this year's release include the South Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, St. George's Gold and Country Club, and more. There will also be a custom course designer once again which will allow you to make and share your creations with the world.
Play options include an analog stick swing option or a three-click swing. There are also plenty of name brand customization options for things like your apparel, clubs, balls, and other gear.
PGA TOUR 2K23 Standard Edition:
- Physical and digital versions for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 consoles, includes the base game;
- For PC, includes the base game and the Golden Club Pack, which includes a Golden Putter, Golden Driver, and four Uncommon consumable golf ball sleeves;
- Players who pre-order any version of the Standard Edition will receive the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack, which includes playable sports icon Michael Jordan, as well as four consumable Common golf ball sleeves;
