Almost time to again be a kid, or squid, or kid-squid? Squid-kid? Skid?

Splatoon 3 will be out on September 9 for the Nintendo Switch. The date was revealed by Nintendo earlier courtesy of a brand spanking new trailer.

The new footage seen in the trailer below shows off a 4v4 Turf War match. The battle takes place on a new stage called Eeltail Alley. This comes a week after pre-orders went live for the game both on the Nintendo eShop for digital buyers and at other retailers, like Amazon, for those that prefer physical media.

Nintendo also announced that the Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion DLC is available as a free download for those with active Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass subscribers.

Splatoon 3 was announced in February 2021. The game will feature a co-op mode called Salmon Run, a single player campaign called Return of the Mammalians, and the competitive multiplayer.
