Smilegate RPG and Amazon Games just announced that their free-to-play MMORPG Lost Ark has surpassed the 20 million user mark. The reveal of this lofty figure says that in the first three days following the launch in the West, more than 4.7 million new users started to play the game. They also note that half of that 20 million user figure come from North America, Europe, South America, and Australia.

Over the past couple of weeks, we talked about how Elden Ring rose to become the sixth most played game on Steam. Well, Lost Ark has quickly rose to being the second most played game on Steam. It hit an all-time concurrent player peak of 1,325,305 and still maintains over 800K concurrent players on a daily basis.

Lost Ark has been available in South Korea since December 4, 2019. It was only released to Western markets on February 11, 2022.

“Overall, the excitement surrounding Lost Ark from around the world is quickly gaining steam, as evidenced by the growing number of global players,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP, Amazon Games. “Together with Smilegate, we are committed to supporting the growing community with a robust roadmap of updates in the years to come.”

Lost Ark continues to be one of the most critically acclaimed games worldwide, with aggregate scores of 83 on OpenCritic and 81 on Metacritic for the game’s massive open world and quests, detailed battle system, and excellent visuals. The highest number of concurrent users was 1.32 million, the second highest in Steam history.
