Saber Interactive announced that World War Z: Aftermath will be released on September 21, 2021 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. This will also be the first time that the game, in any form, is available through Steam. This release will also be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X through backwards compatibility.

Don't worry next-gen owners, a true next-gen update is coming in 2022. This upgrade will be free and provide additional enhancements along with the new Horde Mode XL.

Pre-orders for World War Z: Aftermath are reportedly starting today, except for on the PlayStation as those begin on August 26. The going price for this is $39.99 (USD) but for those that own the original World War Z, an upgrade to Aftermath will cost just $19.99. There is also a World War Z: Aftermath: Deluxe Edition that adds in two bonus melee weapons (Sledgehammer & Dual Cleavers), plus the ornate Explorer Weapon Skins Pack for $49.99.

All pre-orders will include two days of early access to the full game beginning September 19.
