Both the CEO and CFO for Codemasters have parted ways from the company just about five months after EA acquired the racing game focused developer. CEO Frank Sagnier and CFO Rashid Varachia will be stepping down from their positions. EA says that their departures were "always part of the plan."

It seems the two were contemplating stepping down ahead of the acquisition by EA. The only thing EA's acquisition of Codemasters did was accelerate the timeframe of when they would be able to leave. Both Sagnier and Varachia will complete this move by the end of the month.

Codemasters is in the process of being rolled under the EA Sports umbrella and will be led by Cam Weber.

"We are incredibly thankful to Frank and Rashid for everything they have done for Codemasters and Electronic Arts, and we all wish them the very best. We know the culture they have created and their innovative spirit will very much live on at the studio through their outstanding leadership team."
