Play the original in 4K.
Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive announced that they will bring the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale: Innocence to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on July 6.
This release will be enhanced to feature up to 4K resolutions, 60FPS, and 3D audio support. I cannot seem to see any official indication that this will be a free upgrade for those that already own the game on the older generation of consoles. I've seen a couple of reports saying that it will be free, but nothing official has come from any of the studios involved just yet.
Those of you on the Nintendo Switch will also get to experience the game for the first time, also on July 6. This release on the Switch will be made in the cloud, allowing players to pick up the game digitally and play using cloud-streaming technology.
If you haven't yet played A Plague Tale: Innocence yet, this would be a great time to do so. The sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem was just announced this past week at E3 and is slated for a 2022 release. It also ended up being one of my personal favorite games released in 2019 when it came out for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
