New World Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive made this reveal today by showing off a new six month roadmap for the tactical multiplayer FPS. All of what you will see below will begin to be released in July. The order in which the content...

The Surge 2 Release Date Reveal and New Screenshots

This is about the video game, not the drink.

Deck13 announced the release date that they and publisher Focus Home Interactive are planning for The Surge 2. That date is September 24, 2019. That date marks the worldwide release of the action-RPG sequel for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.

The Surge 2 is a follow-up to the rather excellent The Surge, which came out in 2017. Much like the first game, The Surge 2 is full of action, exploration, limb cutting, upgrades, and more limb cutting. It's similar in execution to a Souls-like title but with its own unique twists...

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

    Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

World War Z Boasts Over 1 Million Units Sold Across All Platforms

In its first week of launch, Saber Interactive's World War Z has sold over 1 million units. This sales milestone is cumulative across all of its available platforms, which currently include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Curiously, there are no solid figures that break down exactly how many units per platform were sold. However, Saber Interactive does seem to praise the "tremendous support of the Epic Games Store."

As we have talked about numerous times, World War Z is a co-op focused, third-person shooter in the same vein as Left 4 De...

On this date, the game will be out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Asobo Studio, though an Indie dev, has developed or helped to develop games such as FUEL, ReCore, Quantum Break, and Ratatouille.

We've already covered the game quite a bit over the past couple of years. You should totally check out that coverage if you want a ton of details, screenshots, and other media. If...

    Review: Call of Cthulhu (PC)

    Choices matter?
Call of Cthulhu places you in the shoes of Edward Pierce, a private investigator that falls firmly in the overused trope of being one drink away from full blown alcoholism. Pierce is a man with a mysterious past and, apparently, a pre-destined future. A future that finds him headed towards Darkwater Island in an attempt to get some concrete answers as to what really happened to the Hawkins family. Was it a simple accident that consumed the lives of a mother, father, and their child, or was it something far more sinister? Darkwater is as much of a character in Call of Cthulhu as Pierce or the other island inhabitants. It's as inviting to outsiders as a slap across the face, but serves as the perfect setting for a story that involves the eldritch monster Cthulhu. Darkwater seems almost lost in time, shrouded in what seems like a perpetual green gloom and mist th...

This is Your First Look at The Surge 2 Gameplay

Some good news today for those wanting a piping hot injection of all new gameplay footage for The Surge 2. Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 provide the first look at what they're calling "pre-alpha" gameplay for the sci-fi action RPG.

It's not particularly long, but it's something. The trailer shows off the Park sector, which is located in the middle of a city that has been "ravaged by the events of The Surge."
Devious mercenaries called The Hunters roam the artificial, man-made forest, searching for a powerful creature. Beware their traps, their cunning cloaking devices, and most of all, the out-of-control former park guar

    Review: Vampyr (PC)

    Interview with a vampire.
Please do not adjust your monitors or television sets. I did not misspell "Vampire" for the title. The game is actually entitled Vampyr and it is a legitimate spelling of the name given to the undead blood suckers we have all come to know and sometimes even love. Vampyr, the game, is a new entry in the sometimes too saturated action-RPG genre. And while it does indeed share a lot of similarities with other games in the genre like Bloodborne, , and even The Witcher, Vampyr manages to be a stand out experience. To say that Vampyr is a flawed masterpiece would not be a lie. In a lot of ways, Vampyr really pushes the action RPG genre forward while still having a few cumbersome issues that hold it back from true greatness. On the action side, we have a combat system that immediately made me think of Bloodborne, featuring f...

The Surge 2 Announced for 2019

At this year's Le What's Next de Focus, Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 announced The Surge 2. The first game, released back in May 2017, seemed to do quite well for itself. Well enough at least to warrant a sequel. The sequel looks to bring more action and limb dismemberment to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. Yep, it's at least a year away from release right now.
