  • A Plague Tale: Innocence Release Date Announced, Plus New Behind the Scenes Video Series

A new IP from Asobo Studio, A Plague Tale: Innocence, was first revealed back at E3 2017. Since then we've had just a few additional looks at the game. Today marks the start of a behind the scenes video series that provides us with a look at what the game is all about and how the dev team is striving to give players a unique experience.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This adventure focused title will offer a blend of action, adventure, and even some stealth gameplay. Amicia and her little brother Hugo are on the...

    Review: Call of Cthulhu (PC)

    Choices matter?
Call of Cthulhu places you in the shoes of Edward Pierce, a private investigator that falls firmly in the overused trope of being one drink away from full blown alcoholism. Pierce is a man with a mysterious past and, apparently, a pre-destined future. A future that finds him headed towards Darkwater Island in an attempt to get some concrete answers as to what really happened to the Hawkins family. Was it a simple accident that consumed the lives of a mother, father, and their child, or was it something far more sinister? Darkwater is as much of a character in Call of Cthulhu as Pierce or the other island inhabitants. It's as inviting to outsiders as a slap across the face, but serves as the perfect setting for a story that involves the eldritch monster Cthulhu. Darkwater seems almost lost in time, shrouded in what seems like a perpetual green gloom and mist th...

This is Your First Look at The Surge 2 Gameplay

Some good news today for those wanting a piping hot injection of all new gameplay footage for The Surge 2. Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 provide the first look at what they're calling "pre-alpha" gameplay for the sci-fi action RPG.

It's not particularly long, but it's something. The trailer shows off the Park sector, which is located in the middle of a city that has been "ravaged by the events of The Surge."
Devious mercenaries called The Hunters roam the artificial, man-made forest, searching for a powerful creature. Beware their traps, their cunning cloaking devices, and most of all, the out-of-control former park guar

    Review: Vampyr (PC)

    Interview with a vampire.
Please do not adjust your monitors or television sets. I did not misspell "Vampire" for the title. The game is actually entitled Vampyr and it is a legitimate spelling of the name given to the undead blood suckers we have all come to know and sometimes even love. Vampyr, the game, is a new entry in the sometimes too saturated action-RPG genre. And while it does indeed share a lot of similarities with other games in the genre like Bloodborne, , and even The Witcher, Vampyr manages to be a stand out experience. To say that Vampyr is a flawed masterpiece would not be a lie. In a lot of ways, Vampyr really pushes the action RPG genre forward while still having a few cumbersome issues that hold it back from true greatness. On the action side, we have a combat system that immediately made me think of Bloodborne, featuring f...

The Surge 2 Announced for 2019

At this year's Le What's Next de Focus, Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 announced The Surge 2. The first game, released back in May 2017, seemed to do quite well for itself. Well enough at least to warrant a sequel. The sequel looks to bring more action and limb dismemberment to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019. Yep, it's at least a year away from release right now.

Former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Devs Announce New Battle Royale Game Fear the Wolves

Some of the former developers that worked on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise went on to form Vostok Games back in 2012. They then teamed up with Focus Home Interactive and together they will be releasing a new post-apocalyptic Battle Royale style game. Fear the Wolves was revealed today at the annual event "Le What's Next de Focus."

Set to be released in 2018 on PC and unspecified consoles, the devs promise that it will bring about some fresh and original ideas to the ever growing Battle Royale genre.
Fear the Wolves drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl.

New Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Video

Earlier this week, a reveal trailer for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 was revealed by Focus Home Interactive and Tindalos Interactive. Today, another video came out that allows you to meet the team behind the game. They love the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is probably a good thing for a studio that's working on this game.

The Surge: A Walk in the Park Expansion Announced

Developer Deck 13 just announced that their action title, The Surge, will soon get a new expansion. They're calling it A Walk in the Park, but I get the feeling that it will be anything but when the expansion releases in early December for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Surge is Not Dark Souls and That's Okay (Review)

    Reborn from the Fallen
There is a very interesting thing happening with reviews for Deck13's new action-RPG The Surge. It's something I saw before and something I myself am guilty of, especially when it comes to Deck13's previous release, Lords of the Fallen. That "interesting thing" I have noticed is a move to compare each and every aspect of The Surge to the Dark Souls games. That alone is fine but the thing I cannot stand is the fact that some are actually upset, even borderline mad, that a new action-RPG would even dare to not completely rip off the exact Souls formula. And yes, I am fully aware of the taste of hypocrisy throughout this review. I will fully admit that when asked about the game, I compared The Surge to a "Souls" game. It was purely a matter of convenience. When push came to shove, there was simply no easier way to describe some of the core gameplay me...
