Death's Gambit: Afterlife is a massive expansion of 2018's hardcore action-platformer. Not only is the game about to almost double in size, it's also coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

White Rabbit and Serenity Forge say that Afterlife doubles the size of the original game. This expansion, of sorts, adds new areas, new storylines, new weapons, abilities, and modes. It also adjusts some elements from the game's original release. A new trailer, released during the IGN Expo, shows off some of this new content in action.

IGN notes that the original Death's Gambit was a 2D style Metroidvania game that also has some deep roots in the Soulslike genre. You play as Sorun, a knight "brought back to life by Death with the sole purpose of destroying the source of immortality hidden in a land of monsters."

There is no release date set for Afterlife just yet. There is also no real word as to whether or not this expansion content will come to the original PC and PlayStation 4 releases of the game. All we know is that this is seemingly confirmed for the Nintendo Switch for later this year.
