The Mortal Shell team aims to please.
Based on user feedback, the Mortal Shell team says that they will offer a physical release of the game. However, this physical version will not be available at the same time as the digital release of the game, which is happening on August 18.
The wait won't be too terribly long, though. In fact, the physical release of the game will take place on October 2 and will be for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions. This physical release is only for Europe and North America. The digital release happening this month is a worldwide release on the PC via Epic Games Store (Epic Creator affiliate link), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The physical release will include the usual plastic case like with all physical releases. It will also include a special fold-out poster and a softback art book. This art book includes never-before-seen concept art for environments, items, and characters.
This boxed version will retail for $29.99 (USD) from select retailers. Oh, and there is just one catch to this. There is no physical copy of the game included in the physical release of the PC version. It instead includes a code that can be redeemed on the Epic Games Store.
