Capcom officially cancelled three Capcom Pro Tour events today. The company made the announcement via Twitter. The reason for the cancellation should be obvious by now if you have been following some our latest stories.

The cancelled events include:
  • Brussels Challenge 2020 (was March 20 - March 22, 2020)
  • Norcal Regionals 2020 (was April 10 - April 12, 2020)
  • April Annihilation 2020 (was April 10 - April 12, 2020)
Capcom says that the "safety of our fans and players is our top priority." A full transcription of the tweet can be found below if you cannot access Twitter for whatever reason. More general details about the Capcom Pro Tour and the other planned events can be found at the Capcom Pro Tour site.

There are additional events in April, including The MIXUP 2020 (April 18 - April 19) and Armor Break (April 25) that have so far not yet been cancelled.

"Capcom has been closely monitoring news relating to the novel coronavirus outbreak, and we have decided to remove Brussels Challenge 2020, Norcal Regionals 2020, and April Annihilation 2020 from this year's Capcom Pro Tour. The safety of our fans and players is our top priority. This decision in no way reflects upon the various tournament organizers.

Points allocated to these events will be removed from the pool. All points for the remaining schedule will stay intact.

We apologize if this decision inconveniences any of our players, comm unity members or production partners. Capcom will continue to monitor the situation and will evaluate the need for additional schedule modifications as the situation evolves."
