  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan Launch Trailer

    Set sails for for scares.
    Man of Medan

A launch trailer is out today for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan from Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco. Man of Medan is out on August 30, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. We have covered the game quite a bit over the previous few months. Feel free to check out any of that coverage for a little refresher and additional media.

At the time of this posting, early reviews for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan place the game at a 71 average score, with only a 46% recommendation rate from critics.

The first in an anthology of horror games developed by Supermassive Games, the masterminds behind 2015’s Until Dawn, and published by industry leader BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan is a tale with numerous outcomes. Players must navigate carefully as every playable character can live or die depending on the choices made in-game, leading to a multitude of possible endings and near-limitless replayability. Man of Medan is helmed by a talented cast of actors, including stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, Quantum Break) and Pip Torrens (The Crown, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), whose in-game likenesses are rendered in eerily vivid detail.

Critical Consensus: Alone in the Dark
      by Shawn Zipay
Fails to live up to others in the genre this franchise helped to create.

The Alone in the Dark reboot was just released today and it seems like the reviews have placed it firmly in the realm of being merely ok but with some serious shortcomings. This release from Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic currently sits at a 62% critical average on OpenCritic, with only 42% of reviewers recommending this new release.

Interestingly, the actual scores for this game range everywhere...

Review: The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
      by Shawn Zipay
A thrilling co-op experience that will keep you guessing.

Until Dawn from Supermassive Games was a thrilling and often frightening foray into the compelling horror that only they could execute on so soundly. After Until Dawn came their next best attempt at offering thrills and chills to the player, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan. Man of Medan was a competent horror experience that was marred by slightly restrictive camera angles, a predictable story, and a few gameplay mechanics...
