A new developer diary is out today for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan. The game, currently in development from Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, includes a big cast of characters, some of which should be familiar faces to a lot of movie fans out there.

This includes Shawn Ashmore, the actor known for his roles in the X-Men films and Quantum Break, the video game from Remedy. Ashmore's first developer diary is out today for Man of Medan. He takes us behind-the-scenes with a look at the motion-capture process utilized to bring the game to life.

As it stands, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan will be released on August 30, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

In the first installment of his Developer Diary, Shawn Ashmore (who plays “Conrad” in the game) offers an in-depth discussion of Man of Medan’s vibrantly detailed cast of characters, along with a behind-the-scenes look into the motion-capture process that brings them to life—or death, depending on the player’s choices. With the personalities and relationships of Conrad, Julia, Alex, Brad and Fliss paramount to Man of Medan’s progression, Ashmore’s insights may just prove crucial to navigating the mysterious waters that lie ahead.

Developed by Supermassive Games, the critically-acclaimed studio behind the cult-classic thriller Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology - Man of Medan is a series of standalone cinematic horror games linked by one common element: that every playable character can live and every playable character can die throughout the story, yielding numerous possible endings and near-limitless replayability. Man of Medan will be anchored by a talented cast of actors, including stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, Quantum Break) and Pip Torrens (The Crown, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will be a consistent character, the Curator, in all games in the anthology, whose in-game likenesses are rendered in vivid detail.
