I know this may come as a shock to a lot of you, but Steam has an entire video section where you can purchase or rent a wide variety of films like John Wick, and full series like Red vs. Blue. Honestly, I wouldn't be too surprised to learn that most people had no idea that Valve had this section available on Steam because advertising has been next to non-existent for it.

It turns out that there may be something to it because Valve is reportedly going to pull the plug on the entire Steam video section in early 2019. This revelation comes not from Valve directly, but from the team behind the Lyceum of the Strange horror series. The first episode appeared on Steam back in September, the team's latest update passed along word that future episodes will no longer appear on Steam as Valve will be "shutting down all non-game related video apps."

Thanks to everyone who watched the first episode of Lyceum of the Strange, unfortunately Steam just announced early next year it will be shutting down all non game related video apps from it's store. We had plans to released and promote the series here on Steam with more animations and art production but that's coming to an end. You may continue to download and watch until Feb 2019. Be sure to check us out on Youtube and Vimeo.

This post came back on December 19 and only recently got noticed by people outside of the Lyceum of the Strange fan group. That should probably tell you just how little most people cared about the video section on Steam.

Of course, this could all change in the weeks ahead, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. If you want any of the videos, now would be a good time to pick them up since they are also included in the current Steam Winter Sale.
