Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild
A Monster Hunter 3D animated special is in development from Capcom and Pure Imagination Studios. They're calling it Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild and it will tell a story of "a brave young man determined to prove himself as a monster hunter worthy of recognition."

And he's going to get that chance after he finds out that his village just happens to lie in the path of an Elder Dragon. Whoops! What a silly village, getting in the way of an Elder Dragon like that. Tsk tsk.
The two companies will produce and co-finance the special with Pure Imagination overseeing domestic and international sales. Joshua Fine (“Ultimate Spider-Man” (STARZ)) wrote the special. Production will be completed this Winter and the special is expected to premiere globally in 2019.

“We are thrilled to return fans to the universe of “Monster Hunter” and expand the series’ rich lore,” said Monster Hunter Series Producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto. “We think die-hard fans will appreciate our dedication to the source material while those uninitiated to the series will still be treated to an epic adventure in a wholly unique world.”

So far, Capcom has shipped over 8 million units of Monster Hunter: World, with the PC release coming on August 9. Even with that rather impressive sales figure, it seems as though this isn't good enough because... reasons? As such, shares of Capcom went down almost 13% yesterday.
