Gears of War: Ultimate Edition was released earlier today exclusively through the Windows 10 Store for Windows 10 and DirectX 12. The game will run you $29.99 (USD).
Originally released on Xbox One last year, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a comprehensive remake that includes basically everything ever created for the game – from maps and modes released as downloadable content, to exclusive campaign chapters from the original Windows version. So what’s been keeping its Windows release? Evidently, a whole lot of work under the hood to ensure that it leaves a strong impression. The playable version on show at last week’s Xbox Spring Showcase didn’t disappoint in this regard. It was running at 4K resolution and a constant 60 frames-per-second, and the effects were age-defying.

Microsoft says that the models in the game have been "uprezzed" by 10-30%, while the character models have doubled in poly count. The game also supports 4K texture resolution, so make sure you have more than 4GB of VRAM if you want to see the textures look their absolute best.

"Store saved games in the cloud and resume where you left off from a different PC.", they mean Windows 10 machine, it's important to note when it's platform exclusive.
Listening to Giant Bomb's latest podcast, it sounds like MS have acknowledged the complaints about how their upcoming Windows 10 games will run, i'm referring to the 'app' environment they will be in where v-sync is forced, no config files will be tweakable and various other restrictions not common to PC games, i highly doubt much will change but they at least are aware of peoples concerns.

Yeah, they've acknowledged it... but whether they actually do something to make it like how people want it (how it's been for YEARS now) is another matter entirely.
