From now through to June 3, Destiny 2 players will be able to freely access most of the game's previous expansions: Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen. Those who are PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get access to the most recent Lightfall expansion.
Basically, Bungie just let everyone get caught up on most of the main story beats for Destiny 2 with this month of free access. With Destiny 2: The Final Shape releasing on June 4, there's no better time to get caught up. I truly mean that because once The Final Shape is out you won't have free access to these old expansions anymore.
Bungie is calling this free expansion bundle an Expansion Open Access Month. In addition to the expansion's main story content, you also get access to the seasonal content from Year 6 of Destiny 2. This includes the Season of Defiance, Season of the Deep, Season of the Witch, and Season of the Wish.
The neat thing is that even if you don't end up buying these expansions after the free period, you still get to keep all the gear and loot you earned.
Bungie also just released a map pack for Destiny 2's competitive multiplayer modes. The map pack offers three new maps for Crucible players. Check out the launch trailer for that below.
