  • Shadow Moses - First Trailer for the Fan-Made Unreal Engine 4 Remake of Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid was a pretty good game. Hell, I'll throw out the ultra controversial opinion and say that game was incredible. Sadly, that franchise is now effectively dead. However, some fans are taking it upon themselves to recreate the first Metal Gear Solid in Unreal Engine 4.

They're calling it Shadow Moses and it will more than likely be hit with a cease and desist sooner rather than later. But hey, enjoy this first trailer for the game! Maybe with Konami not giving a damn about their games, this one will actually be finished and released. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Interesting. The dev put this trailer out during an early stage of development to intentionally expose themselves, and deal with any legal issues as they arise. While I don't see what their options are in terms of continuing (as Konami has enough resources to do it themselves, and doesn't actually need the devs to do it for them), it's quite interesting that the devs are literally anticipating a cease and desist. Konami does give a damn about their games, but the platforms these games are being released on are something all countries outside of Japan doesn't care about. I'm just not that into pachislots and pachinko. I mean, I find them fun for a while, but it's not something I want to play every day.

And I'm also not that into Yu-Gi-Oh's mobile games, especially if I can't get a quick and simple setup for online team duels. I do like Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution Soccer, so good to know nothing changed there (until they introduce microtransactions to unlock the game's fun factor no doubt).

Anyways, they poked their heads out as of yesterday. So I would say... It'll take a month before they shut down from C&D. Zips? How long do you think they'll exist for, before Konami's lawyers send a simple E-mail to tell them to go die in a fire? Even as a guess. And to everyone else, how long would you guess they'll last for?

(I'm surprised Final Fantasy 7's 2D brawler fan-made game STILL exists after several months of being out. I can't picture Square-Enix being okay with that.)
