Earlier today, Nintendo revealed a couple of revised models for the 3DS and 3DS XL. The new models now include a "C-Button," modeled after the C-stick from the GameCube controller.
In addition, the new models include new XL and XR shoulder buttons. The devices now feature a new micro-USB card slot and NFC technology that is built into the system.
As if that wasn't enough, the new systems also come packed with a better CPU, slightly altered dimensions, and the ability to use customized faceplates.
They are simply called "New 3DS" and "New 3DS XL" for now and will be released in Japan on October 11 for $150 (USD) for the 3DS and $180 for the 3DS XL. Europe will get them next but not until 2015. North America does not yet have a release date for these devices.
