  • Valve Raises Price of Steam Deck by as Much as $300

The 1TB model is now almost $1,000.
New prices for the 512GB and 1TB OLED models of Steam Deck, showing increases prices of $789 and $949 respectively.

If you thought that Valve would magically escape the tech component shortage and rising costs, you had best think again. Valve just increased the prices of the current Steam Deck models by as much as $300.

The 512GB Steam Deck OLED is now $789, an increase of $200 from its previous $549 price tag. The 1TB Steam Deck OLED is now $949, which is a huge $300 increase from the $649 it was previously retailing for. Both models are still available to purchase through Steam, with estimated arrival times of between three and five days.

The prices even on the refurbished models have also gone up. While most models are currently out of stock, there are still some of the OLED refurbs available. A refurbished 1TB Steam Deck OLED will run you $759, which is still considerably more than what a new 1TB Steam Deck would have cost before the price increase. Likewise for a refurbished 512GB OLED model, which will cost you $629.

In a brief announcement, Valve directly states that increase in pricing for both models is "due to rising memory and storage costs."

Any guesses as to how much the Steam Machine and Steam Frame will retail for?
