The Internet is in a damned tizzy once again because it was revealed that Valve is working on a new project codenamed "White Sands." Is it Half-Life 3? Is it not? It probably doesn't help that some people are already out there helping to spread rather baseless rumors that White Sands is Half-Life 3, but it is what it is.
The news here is that Valve is working on some game that is currently codenamed White Sands. What is White Sands? Well, nobody outside of Valve actually knows for sure. The project only surfaced when actor Natasha Chandel added "Project White Sands (video game)" on the resume section of her website.
The entry for White Sands on her resume page has since been removed, but it can still be seen through this Wayback Machine snapshot.
Chandel is no stranger to voice acting roles for video games. Some of her most recent work includes the voice of Ryleigh in Starfield, Padmavati Balan in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and she voiced a Ghostbuster in 2022's Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.
Literally nothing is known for sure about White Sands other than its codenamed White Sands. Anything stating or suggested otherwise is merely speculation or wishful thinking at the present time. As with many projects in development at game studios, including at Valve, whatever White Sands is may never materialize as a finished product.
Valve is also still working on Deadlock, their not so secret third-person competitive multiplayer title. Deadlock is still in development and new testers are seemingly being invited to join the beta quite regularly.
