Valve just released their list of the top games released on Steam in May 2021. From the looks of things, May 2021 included a little bit of everything. It's got man eating sharks, villages full of evil, legendary editions of classics, and much more.

Of course, before even getting into that Valve always takes a moment to give some special highlights for what went on for the month. For instance, we learn that for the month of May, the top game releases supported an average of 9 languages each. This is a real boon for those of you out there who don't speak English as your native language.

May was also a huge month for new game releases from established franchises. For instance, we saw Resident Evil Village get released. This was joined up by new releases for both Saints Row and the Mass Effect franchises. Franchises that have been around on Steam for over a decade. Steam also saw the release of new entries in the Shin Megami Tensei and MechWarrior franchises. These franchises made their debut more than 30 years ago.

You can sort through the various categories yourself. In the meantime, here are the top 20 games for May presented in no particular order:
  • Resident Evil Village
  • MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
  • Saints Row: The Third Remastered
