  • Valve Apologizes for Leaking Street Fighter V Character Reveal Early

Valve apologizes for an incident they call "regrettable and unintentional."
    Street Fighter V - Poison

Just this past Thursday, Capcom made the big reveal that E. Honda, Lucia, and Poison were coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. For some fans, this was completely new and exciting news to read. For others, this was just a confirmation of a leak that happened on Wednesday of this past week.

The leak in question was an early release of the reveal trailer for the three upcoming characters. It wasn't meant to show up until this weekend's big EVO event. Many thought that someone at Capcom had screwed up when scheduling when the trailer would go live, but no it was Valve that did the oopsie.

Valve took responsibility for the mistake and offered an apology to all Street Fighter V fans via the Steam forums..

    Dear Street Fighter V Fans,

On Wednesday of this week there was a mix-up in the publishing process at Valve that caused a trailer to go live on Steam ahead of schedule. The trailer includes the major reveal of Poison, Lucia, and E. Honda as characters joining the fighter roster.

It’s a regrettable and unintentional situation, and we have already implemented measures to prevent this error from happening again. We are fans of Street Fighter ourselves and we’re sorry for the error.

You can play the future right now.

Capcom announced the final character coming to Street Fighter V's roster. Meet Luke. This is a new character and, according to Capcom, a "key player in the future of the series." This seems to indicate that Luke will be one of the key stars in Street Fighter VI.

This wouldn't be the first time Capcom showed off a future key figure in a previous title. They did this with Alex in Street Fighter III. They also did it for Ryu in...

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Announced Today
      by Shawn Zipay
Capcom has done what Capcom does best today. By that, I mean they announced a new version of their latest Street Fighter game. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition was just announced today for the PC and PlayStation 4 and it is an "updated version" of the previous Street Fighter V. The difference here is that all of the new content that will be included in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be released for free to those that own the current release of Street Fighter V. This release tak...
