Half-Life 3 let it go

It is *checks non-existent watch* now three months into 2019, which means it's about that time again for another Half-Life 3 rumor. This one comes directly from Valve's Gabe Newell himself!

Well, maybe.

Honestly, it's probably fake but I know what pulls people in to the site and this is certainly going to do it for a little bit.

All of this begins with the latest video from "Valve News Network (VNN)," a YouTube channel that never, ever, ever (heavily implied sarcasm here) exaggerates or simply pulls things out of their ass. Get them clicks! Right? Today's video focuses on email responses provided by Gabe Newell to fans. Newell is known for regularly responding to emails sent to him. In fact, in many of the Valve developer commentaries provided by Newell, he makes a point of saying to go ahead and email him at gaben@valvesoftware.com.

Anyway, the very last email shown off is supposedly a response Gabe provided to a fan. The fan asked if they would be able to play a "new chapter of half life before (their) life ends." Gabe responded with, "Just don't die in the next 5 years or so "
Half-Life 3 rumor 2019

There you have it. Real? Fake? Yeah, it's probably fake.

We've seen so many of these potential teases and completely bullshit rumors for at least the past 12 years now. I say: Until Valve announces that a new Half-Life game is coming and they show you screenshots and video, don't believe it. Seriously, just let it go.

If you would still like to believe it's real, by all means, go right on ahead. In fact, let's say that Half-Life 3 is super real. It will have an optional VR mode and everything! The catch is that it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
