Today, Microsoft is laying off 2.1% of its workforce. This equates to 4,800 people that are being let go. The company's XBOX division is cutting about 20% of its entire workforce. All of this is being done in an effort to cut costs due to rising prices and expenses brought about by artificial intelligence (AI).
Starting January 2028, Sony will no longer produce physical discs for new PlayStation game releases. All games released in January 2028 and after will be available only through digital stores such as the PlayStation Store.
Sony attempts to justify this move by claiming it's a "natural direction" in order to "adapt to consumer trends as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs."...

This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.
Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion marks a significant step forward in the narrative that was originally set in motion during the initial campaign and furthered by the events of the Vesse...
This workaround could help Steam users get into the game.
Following today's Season 6: Dark Creations update for Battlefield 2042, most Steam players have run into a bit of a snag. When attempting to launch Battlefield 2042, Steam will attempt a "Validation" step for the game instead of launching the game. Once completed, the game will still fail to launch and kick off another "Validation" step.
It seems that a workaround to this issue lies not...
A new design accompanied by a price increase for the Digital Edition.
A new and slimmer PlayStation 5 design is coming just in time for the holiday season. Today, Sony revealed slimmer designs for both the "regular" PlayStation 5 and the Digital Edition PlayStation 5. It's important to note that this redesign is largely just aesthetic. Sony didn't swap out the internals with more powerful upgrades or anything. The one exception to this is the internal SSD, which goes from...

Oh man, what's this? A poll question asking about Counter-Strike on a site that used to be called CS-Nation? Wow, that's totally nuts and crazy and so whacky.
Counter-Strike 2 was officially released on September 27th, effectively replacing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Like, it literally replaced CS:GO. Not only did Counter-Strike: Global Offensive just straight up get updated to Counter-Strike 2, but Valve also kept using...
Redfall released back in May 2023 to some less than favorable reviews, including our own review that found very little to love about Arkane's open-world vampire slayer. Up until October 6, Arkane released just one hotfix update and one major game update. While most have already written the game off, hitting a player count of just three people a day prior, Arkane surprised everyone by releasing the game's second update.
There are plenty of changes in store when Season 6 launches.

A few hours after Update 6.0.0 deploys, Season 6: Dark Creations and its new Battle Pass will go live. Once everything is updated and live, there will be a 24/7 playlist up for Redacted, the new map coming in Season 6.
A very brief overview of the new Season 6 content and changes are here:

Like, really early. It's still years and years away.
CD Projekt Red admits that Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a sequel and that sequel is already in very early development. This is the game that is known as Project Orion and is still several years away from being released.
During a presentation to investors on October 5, CD Projekt Red said that Project Orion was in the "conceptional design" stage of development. This comes directly from chief creative officer Adam...
Coming just a week after a ransomware group called Ransomed.vc claims to have hacked into Sony, comes word that there was a second security breach. The initial reporting on this breach comes from Bleeping Computer. They say that Sony sent out a data breach...
Dark Creations is the name for Battlefield 2042's sixth season. Set to arrive on October 10, Dark Creations will add in a new map, new gadgets, and offer various gameplay improvements. There will also be a bunch of cosmetic items offered through the Season 6 Battle Pass, which again offers both a free track and a Premium track if you spend a bit of cash (or have enough Coins saved from previous season passes).
Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?
For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
