A game update for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War contained far more than anybody really bargained for. Tucked away in the game files were the logo, key art, and information about the various editions of the still as of yet not officially announced Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Oh right, the 2021 Call of Duty game is called Call of Duty: Vanguard in case that wasn't plainly obvious by now.

These images were found within the update files for Season 5 of Black Ops Cold War. It seems as though there will be at least three different editions of the game that will be made available for sale: Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, and an Ultimate Edition. Artwork for all three of these editions was found via data mining.

As you can see, there is confirmation of an open beta for the game that will be coming at some point. Again, the game hasn't even been officially announced yet, but it will probably be happening very soon.

The images also seem to confirm a rumor that suggests the game takes place during WWII. There was some mention that the game takes place in an alternate reality WWII setting and it kind of looks like that is also true given some of the designs on the weapons and soldiers.

The original sources for these images seem to originate from data miners posting to social media. I've included an embed of one such tweet below, but just keep in mind that if the images aren't showing up here or on Twitter, it's due to a takedown notice from Activision.
