  • EA Reveals New Sobek City for Battlefield 6 as Leakers Share Gameplay

A tiny official glimpse at this new multiplayer map.

Another trickle of Battlefield 6 multiplayer information came out today from Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios. On social media, Battlefield shared a small look at multiplayer map, New Sobek City.

As part of the reveal, the image shows what an area of the map looks like after it was thoroughly destroyed. Another section of the image shows a still from what looks to be gameplay, with a line of vehicles, an explosion, and a helicopter that is not in the process of being destroyed.

A look at a multiplayer map for Battlefield 6. Part of the image shows what a section of the map looks like prior to destruction, another is the same area after being destroyed by war. The final section shows a line of vehicles, an explosion, and a helicopter flying towards the camera.

There was also a leak for New Sobek City today. This one comes from those that are a part of the Battlefield Labs playtests that are still underway. This particular footage was posted to Reddit. This footage shows off the Breakthrough mode on New Sobek City.

Obviously, if the embed below or the link just prior don't work, then there is a good chance that the footage was pulled from Reddit by the powers that be.

I KNEW you were going to mention the helicopter! Nice call back to the reveal livestream event, where every map is introduced with a crashing helicopter because nobody wanted to use anything else to destroy the place. I understand the return of destruction, but I also laughed that it always had to be helicopters for seemingly no reason.

Battlefield 6 Reviews - Solid Multiplayer, Terrible Single Player Campaign
    by Shawn Zipay
The multiplayer more than makes up for the "dull" campaign.

The initial batch of reviews for Battlefield 6 indicate that yes, Battlefield is back! This is assuming you ignore the "short," "disappointing," and "dull" single player campaign. At least the multiplayer component seems to more than make up for the massively disappointing campaign.

The average critical score on OpenCritic for Battlefield 6 is 84% with 92% of all critics...

    Review: The Sinking City (PC)
    by Shawn Zipay
    That sinking feeling.

Frogware's The Sinking City is perhaps the best love letter to Lovecraft that we have seen in quite some time, but that may not be saying much. This most direct competition to The Sinking City was 2018's Call of Cthulhu, which really failed to capitalize on any single gameplay aspect. The Sinking City, on the other hand, at least manages to excel in one or two key areas, even if it barely stays afloat in others.

The city of Oakmont is the main location...
