Hollywood wants to make a movie based on the Battlefield franchise. According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, both Christopher McQuarrie and Michael B. Jordan are already attached to the project.
McQuarrie is set to write, direct, and produce the film based on the Battlefield franchise. Jordan is attached to produce and potentially start in the film. Electronic Arts is also attached to be a producer on the film.
This whole Battlefield film isn't a done deal just yet. The filmmakers are currently pitching the idea to different companies to see if any of them will bite.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that McQuarrie and several others pitched studios and streamers such as Apple and Sony Thursday with other meetings occurring Friday. Those involved are prioritizing a theatrical release so it is unclear if Netflix will be on the meetings list.
It is unclear when bidding will commence, but studio business affairs execs better gird their loins for this one. It will not be cheap. Talent costs will be one thing, but even getting rights to the game will be pricey.

It really isn't clear what Battlefield game would be adapted into a film. The franchise isn't exactly known for having stellar single player campaigns or good stories. The franchise has covered several different eras throughout the years. It's possible that the Battlefield film could just turn into a generic WWI or WWII film, as those would be the safest route possible. There are also several Battlefield games that take place in either the modern-era or the near future, including the most recent releases of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042.
