Resident Evil Requiem owners can download the latest update for the game, which came out late in the day on May 7. The update includes some fixes and improvements to the game alongside the addition of an entirely new minigame, Leon Must Die Forever.

This extra game mode is only unlocked after players complete the main story. Capcom states that this extra minigame adds "nonstop combat action that players know and love from legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy." You will fight through various areas that you saw and played through in the main game as you attempt to both survive and defeat the final boss. There will be stronger enemy variants compared to the base game, five increasingly difficulty ranks, and a race against the clock. You will add to your enhancement gauge by defeating enemies, which will unlock Leon's "enhancer abilities" that are exclusive to this game mode.

There is a fair bit of randomness to each run. Capcom notes that the order and progression of each area will differ between runs. In addition, options for Leon's "enhancer abilities" will also differ from run to run.

On top of the Leon Must Die Forever minigame, a general update for Resident Evil Requiem makes several additional improvements to the game. Included in the update is PC support for DualSense's adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensor features.

Capcom also shared that there is new "Leon Must Die Forever" merch available through Amazon (but it may only be through Amazon Japan). Resident Evil amiibo figures are also coming out on July 30 featuring the main characters from Requiem: Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy.
