  • Capcom Shares a Deeper Look at Resident Evil Requiem and Special Collaborations

Collaborations are with Porsche and Hamilton for some reason?

A special Resident Evil Showcase has come and gone this evening. During the 12 minute showcase, Capcom shared new footage and details for Resident Evil Requiem, revealed collaborations with Porsche and watchmaker Hamilton, and announced a release on GeForce Now.

We will start with the reveal that you are most interested in: The collaborations between Resident Evil and a couple of very not-gaming focused companies: Porsche and Hamilton. Porsche, the company that makes cars most of us will never be able to afford, will have a presence in Resident Evil Requiem. A "one-of-a-kind Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT" was created for the survival horror game. This custom SUV will be what Leon drives in Requiem.

Hamilton, the watch maker not the play, are designing not one but two "dazzling watch models that replicate those worn by Leon and Grace in-game." Leon Kennedy's watch is a Khaki Field Auto Chrono while Grace Ashcroft's watch is the Pan Europ Automatic. These real watches will be available for purchase starting on February 27th, which just happens to be the date in which Resident Evil Requiem is released. There will just be 2,000 units made available, so don't expect these to be cheap either.

Now, on to the boring stuff.

During the Showcase, Capcom shared a fresh look at the dual protagonists in Resident Evil Requiem. We know already that Leon's gameplay will be more action focused while Grace's portions will be more on the survival-horror side. Both protagonists will be playable in either third-person or first-person perspectives. You can freely swap between perspectives at any point.

One of the more unique aspects that was revealed today is with the game's save system. Those who play on the Standard (Classic) difficulty will need to make use of Ink Ribbons for saves during Grace's gameplay sections.

    • Leon Kennedy: Leon, experienced in both hand-to-hand combat and firearms, is investigating a series of suspicious deaths. While navigating this deadly situation, he’s able to wield a variety of weapons and execute close-quarters combat maneuvers with the all-new hatchet. Perfect Leon’s skills as you time your moves to parry enemy attacks, turn the tables as you attack with a chainsaw seized from an enemy, and pull off exhilarating finishing moves to deliver the final blow.
    • Grace Ashcroft: Grace begins her survival journey in a sanatorium overrun with zombies, requiring fierce judgement when deciding which enemies to fight and which to avoid. Limited resources and carrying capacity force the player to make critical decisions that can mean life or death. Acquiring a special device allows Grace to craft vital items using infected blood, unlocking the opportunity to diversify your attack strategies. The Requiem assault revolver, a special nod to the game’s name, is a custom gun boasting immense power and will likely be your last resort for survival. With limited ammo, will you use it right away or save your ammo for the horrors ahead?
    • Zombies: The zombies in this game have lost their minds, however some seem fixated on actions from their lives before death. A chef obsessed with cooking, a singer who keeps singing, a janitor who polishes mirrors endlessly...Could you exploit their behaviors to outmaneuver them?
    • Elpis: Elpis is the keyword that connects everything: the death of Grace's mother, Alyssa Ashcroft; Grace's own past; and the story connected to Leon. It's up to you, the player, to unravel the mystery that leads to the truth behind the events depicted in Resident Evil Requiem.
    • Difficulty: Players can choose from multiple difficulties when experiencing the horror and action. Casual offers aim assist, plus more forgiving player health and enemy durability. Standard (Classic) heightens the tension, requiring Ink Ribbons for each save while playing as Grace, demanding strategy not only in resource management but also when to save.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to be out on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic. Newly announced just today is a release on the cloud streaming service GeForce Now. The GeForce Now release will also be out on February 27th alongside all other versions of the game.

Capcom also shares that Requiem is "being optimized for a wide range of PCs ahead of its worldwide release." Those with high end computers will be "able to enjoy additional cutting-edge technology from Nvidia, with DLSS 4 and path-traced effects that accelerate performance and enhance image quality." The PC hardware requirements for Resident Evil Requiem were posted to Steam, and can also be found below.

Finally, Capcom announced that there will be 1/6 scale figures of Grace and Leon released. According to Capcom, these figures will "match those produced in prior Collector's Editions," so they should match up nicely if you have those older figures on display already.

There will also be special Resident Evil Symphony of Legacy orchestral performances across Japan, North America, and Europe later this year. These performances will be a part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Resident Evil franchise. It's been 30 years already? God, we're old. Anyway, here's a bunch of additional screenshots from the game that were shared today.

I wish they'd collaborate more with designers who say, no we won't make half the game action-focused.
