Nightdive Studios released a new update for the System Shock remake. This update is available for all platforms and includes several bug fixes and some enhancements. Those playing on the Switch and Switch 2 will probably see the biggest benefits from this update though as Nightdive claims to have made significant performance improvements on Nintendo's hardware offerings.
The System Shock Parity Patch v2.1 gives Switch and Switch 2 players increased stability, visual improvements, and performance gains. The Switch version runs at up to 900p docked and up to 720p handheld, both with dynamic resolution scaling. The Switch version has a 30 FPS performance target. The Switch 2 version runs at up to 1440p at 60 FPS while docked, and at 1080p and 60 FPS when in handheld mode.
So, Nightdive says that the full patch notes are available on their website, but the last thing currently posted there for System Shock is from December 2025. Maybe they'll add the full patch notes there later? Maybe not? I'll link it just in case they show up by the time you read this news post.
“System Shock Version 2.1, the ‘Parity Patch,’ marks nearly ten years since the System Shock Remake project began,” said Justin Khan, producer at Nightdive Studios. “This patch represents countless lessons learned, the dedication of a small but determined team, and our commitment to refining the experience across every platform. Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs of that journey.”
