Stardew Valley is now 10 years old and the game's developer, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is celebrating the milestone with a 20-minute long retrospective and a special reveal for the upcoming 1.7 update.
The biggest announcement as it applies to the 1.7 update was the reveal of not one, but two new romance options for players. In Stardew Valley 1.7, players will now have the added romance options of Clint and Sandy. Clint is the game's blacksmith that has an almost unhealthy crush on Emily, another of the game's NPCs. Sandy is the owner of a store in the Calico Desert region and one of the most requested romance options prior to 1.7.
Clint and Sandy will be the first new romance options added to Stardew Valley since its 1.1 update.
The big romance reveals came at the end of a retrospective on the past 10 years of Stardew Valley that ConcernedApe released. If you want him to take you on a trip down memory lane, I can think of no better use of your time. We see how Stardew Valley went from its first iteration of Sprout Valley into how it became the game we all know today.
A firm release date for the 1.7 update has not yet been revealed.
