Borys Nieśpielak insists that there is new content in development for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3. According to Eurogamer, Nieśpielak is "a trusted source of Polish games industry information - a leaker of sorts."
Nieśpielak has now stated multiple times that a new Witcher 3 expansion is in the works. The expansion, according to Nieśpielak, is in development at Fool's Theory, the studio that is working on The Witcher 1 remake for CD Projekt Red. Nieśpielak first made this expansion claim back in the summer of '25, even going so far as to guess that it would get a reveal at The Game Awards.
That reveal obviously did not happen. However, an analyst with Polish Noble Securities, Mateusz Chrzanowski, also released a report (translation via Reddit) on December 16, 2025 that says they "expect the next paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3 to be released in May 2026."
Chrzanowski goes on to say that they are expecting the unannounced add-on to sell about 11 million copies and be priced at $30. He even says that the production budget is PLN 52 million (~$14.5 million USD). The release of this new content for The Witcher 3 would coincide with the "kick off (of the proper marketing campaign for The Witcher 4."
Eurogamer got in contact with the original source of this Witcher 3 expansion rumor, Borys Nieśpielak. In the email exchange, Nieśpielak says that his information was "verified by 'several' independent sources." Nieśpielak also points to some new information that surfaced in the latest CD Projekt Red financial report.
In the earnings call, CD Projekt chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said: "Given our current progress, there is a chance that new content hinted upon in recent calls and reports may see release in the coming year, having an impact on our results and increasing the likelihood of achieving the earnings condition for the first stage of the incentive program."
